How We Help Your Child Build Confidence and Independence from Their Very First Steps
The Pikler Approach
Ever wondered how we help our youngest children build confidence and independence from their very first steps? At Monkey Puzzle Grange Road, we believe that when children are given time, space, and respect, their natural confidence shines through. That’s why our practitioners follow the Pikler Approach—a child-led way of learning that puts your little one’s happiness, movement, and emotional well-being first.
What the Pikler Approach Means for Your Child
The Pikler Approach is based on the core belief that children develop best when given the time, respect, and freedom to explore at their own pace.
Freedom to Move Naturally:
We provide a safe, carefully prepared environment where babies and young children can move freely, develop naturally, and build confidence through independent play. Rather than placing children into positions they cannot get into by themselves, we allow them to reach developmental milestones in their own time—supporting strong physical development, body awareness, and self-confidence.
Meaningful One-to-One Connection:
Our practitioners build warm, trusting relationships with each child through responsive and respectful care. Everyday routines, such as nappy changing, mealtimes, and dressing, are seen as valuable opportunities for one-to-one interaction, communication, and genuine emotional connection.
Building a Foundation for Life
By following the Pikler Approach at Monkey Puzzle Grange Road, we help children develop independence, resilience, physical confidence, and a lifelong love of learning—all while ensuring they always feel safe, valued, and respected.
