Nursery Assistant

My name is Wiktoria and I am a Nursery Assistant in the Baby Room at Monkey Puzzle Grange Road in Cambridge.

What fills your heart with happiness about your role?

I love playing with the children and watching them grown and develop into their own characters within our setting.

How did you get your career started in Early Years?

I started out as a university student studying Psychology. This course made me realise that I wanted to work with children, so I moved on and joined a nursery.

How do you get supported at Monkey Puzzle to develop and progress your career?

Since being at Monkey Puzzle, I have begun the process of training for safeguarding, which is great. The management team at my nursery are very supportive with any learning I wish to undertake to develop my career.

What’s your potential next steps?

I would love to gain more of an insight into the nursery life – learning more about the EYFS and improve my overall knowledge while gaining vital skills along the way.

What would you say to anyone with a choice of early years childcare as a possible career path?

I would fully recommend a career within the early years sector! No two days are the same and it is such a rewarding job being able to watch the children grow before your eyes.
