Chloe
Position:
Deputy Room Leader
About Me:
My name is Chloe, and I am a Deputy Room Leader at Monkey Puzzle Grange Road.
What fills your heart with happiness about your role?
I enjoy being a part of the children’s learning and development and watching them grow. I am glad to be able to be apart of their first journey of life.
How did you get your career started in Early Years?
I started my journey in the early years sector as an apprentice in a nursery when I was 16 years old. I felt that college wasn’t for me. I much preferred having an apprenticeship as it allowed me to gain more knowledge and develop my skills because I was learning on the job. This has allowed me to gain more experience.
How do you get supported at Monkey Puzzle to develop and progress your career?
I started at Monkey Puzzle during lockdown, and I was doing my Level 3 at the time. During this time there was limited contact with my tutor meaning I didn’t get as much support. Monkey Puzzle was very supportive and helped me complete my qualification. We have access to online training which we can do at any time to grow our knowledge and skills
What’s your potential next steps?
When looking into the future I would like to progress to a Room Leader and then be a part of the management team.
What would you say to anyone with a choice of early years childcare as a possible career path?
To choose early years as a career, you need to be patient as you are working with and moulding the lives of such little people. With that being said, make sure to have lots of fun!
