Magic and Fantasy Week: Babies Explore the Rainbow at Our Cambridge Nursery

It’s Magic and Fantasy week in the baby room at Monkey Puzzle Grange Road. Today, our babies in Bluebells and Daffodils explored a magical rainbow, full of colour, music and hands-on discovery.

Scooping, Pouring and Singing Together

Using spoons and cups, the babies practised scooping and pouring as they explored the rainbow. They interacted with each other throughout, sharing the different colours and joining in with the “Rainbow” song as they played.

How Play Like This Helps Your Baby Grow

Scooping and pouring might look simple, but they’re brilliant for building the hand control and coordination behind fine motor skills, the same skills your child will later use to feed themselves, hold a crayon and get dressed. Sharing colours with friends encourages early social skills, and singing together supports listening, rhythm and first words. For your baby, it all adds up to joyful, play-based early years learning in a warm and nurturing baby room, right here in Cambridge.
