Nurturing Little Artists

At Monkey Puzzle Grange Road, one of Cambridge’s warmest and most nurturing day nurseries, learning goes far beyond the classroom. Alongside Forest School, our STEM room, and cooking classes, we’re delighted to have introduced a brand-new art class as part of our wide range of extra-curricular activities and it’s already becoming a firm favourite with the children.

A New Artist Every Month

Each month, our wonderful art practitioner Maria introduces the children to a different artist. This month it’s the turn of Wassily Kandinsky, and today the children explored his celebrated work “Several Circles,” experimenting with colour, shape, and pattern as they created pieces of their very own.

Why Art Matters in the Early Years

Art is about so much more than the finished picture. As the children work with different materials, colours, and textures, they’re developing creativity, self-expression, and confidence. They’re building emotional wellbeing, cultural awareness, and problem-solving skills the very foundations of a lifelong love of learning and a real appreciation for the arts.

For your child, that means an early years experience that helps them grow, discover, and shine not just a fun afternoon, but a genuine head start in the skills that matter most. It’s just one of the many ways we support every child’s development during their time with us.
